Social Inclusion Forum 2013 – Local Preparatory Meeting

As part of the preparation process for the 2013 Social Inclusion Forum which will take place on March 26th in Croke Park, the Community Workers’ Co-operative and the EAPN Ireland are carrying out a number of preparatory workshops. These workshops will support people to contribute to and prepare for the national Social Inclusion Forum.

Submission on Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived 2014-2020

EAPN Ireland has made a submission on the proposals for a new Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived to Emer Costello MEP. Ms Costello is writing the report on the new Fund for the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. The total Fund of around €2.5 billion targets the most deprived persons to alleviate food deprivation, homelessness the material deprivation of children. The main focus of the fund is to provide these people with access to food and other basic goods whil also allowing for social inclusion measures.

Submission to Irish Rural Development Programme 2014-2020

EAPN Ireland made a submission on the new round of the Irish Rural Development Programme 2014-2020. This Programme includes the funding for Rural Development and the Local Development Programme, formerly the LEADER Programme.

Submission on Working Age Income Supports

February 2013

EAPN Ireland and the Europe 2020 Working Group made a Submission on Working Age Income Supports to the Department of Social Protection Advisory Group on Tax and Social Welfare in December 2012. The submission highlighted the importance of providing an integrated approach to supporting people from welfare to work which addressed adequate income, access to quality services and a labour market which is inclusive for everyone. It highlights that this approach must also be carried out alongside a strategy to create decent jobs.
